Finding out more about buildings

This week we received a letter from the 3 pigs! They asked for our help building a new house to keep them safe from the wolf.  We realised that we needed to find out some more about building materials and how to build a house.  So we set off to Hythe library to see what we could find out.

We have already learned how to use non-fiction books, so we got straight down to work. We found out lots of useful information, which we drew or wrote about on our clipboards.  Learning to write comes in very useful these days!

The children were all beautifully behaved and were a credit to our school.

Back in the classroom, the builders continued to fix and mend.................................

...............and we got on with learning a new sound.  j is for jelly!

In forest schools, we have been thinking about animal homes.  We searched for hidden woodland creatures and had to think hard about where to look for them.

We managed to find them all! What a busy week!
