Cress sandwiches.

We held a science experiment to find out whether cress seeds would grow better in sand, soil or stones.  Once the seeds had grown, we enjoyed making our own cress sandwiches. Yummy!

Jack and the beanstalk theatre visit.

Mystery seeds.

The children found some mystery seed packets.  They had no pictures on the front so we have no idea what they will grow in to.  Some seeds are very large and some are small.  The children chose which they would like to plant and made predictions about what their seed might grow in to.  We are expecting a lot of magic beanstalks!

The children have been learning all about how to look after plants and what they need to hep them grow.  We would love to hear about any plants your children are growing at home!

Growing.

Our new topic this half term is all about growing. We have been learning all about seeds and what they need to make them grow. The children have had great fun playing in the Garden Centre role play area.

In Forest School, the children took bark and leaf rubbings.  They looked closely at the different shapes and patterns.

The children were also challenged to complete a leaf hunt.  They had to look very carefully at the shapes of each leaf in order to identify them correctly.
