Sticker charts!

Well done to the children who completed their sticker charts this week.

Building wolf proof houses.

Having designed a wolf proof house, the children set about building their model homes this week.  They thought carefully about which materials they should use and included lots of special features to keep the wolf away.

Please come and see our models and our super writing on Thursday 1st February at 2.50.

Trip to the library.

The three little pigs left us a letter asking us to help them work out how to build a strong house.

We saw the house they had tried to build out of sticks and it had all fallen down! So we decided to find out a little bit more about how to build houses and what materials to use.

We thought that the library would be a good place to start. We learned all about fiction and non-fiction books and set off to see what new facts  we could find out.

We found out lots of useful information from the library books and were read some lovely stories by the librarian too!  We really enjoyed our trip to the library.

Animal homes.

We have been thinking about the kind of homes that animals like to live in and why.  We matched pictures of woodland creatures to their homes and then searched for them in the woods.  We learned the different names of the homes and were lucky enough to find some interesting holes in our search!
