Growing, growing, gone.

The children have looked after their seeds carefully and watched them grow.  They have learned all about how a seed grows into a plant and what it needs to grow. They have taken their plants home now to plant at home.  Let us know if any grow into magical beanstalks.

More on growing...............

Our investigation into how seeds grow was very interesting.  We found that the seeds planted in soil grew the best, followed by those planted in sand and then stones.  There was plenty of cress to go around and we enjoyed making cress sandwiches.

In forest schools, we used our observation skills to look at the different shades of green we could find in the woods.  We collected leaves and ordered them from lightest to darkest green.

In order to find out more about plants, we headed to Hythe library.  We looked at a selection of books and learned more about the different parts of a plant, how they grow and which parts we can eat.
A big thank you to Kate and Lisa for a lovely morning of activities.
