Spiders!

As part of our mini beast topic, we have been learning all about spiders.  We read the story of The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle and re-enacted it.  We also wrote about what we would do if we were very busy spiders left alone in the classroom.

 

We learned how a spider spins its web, and made some webs of our own.

We have also been  enjoying role play in our mini beast café. 

Art attack.

The children have been getting arty this week.  They have studied still life paintings by famous artists and created their own using pastel crayons and then comparing them to pictures drawn on the computer. The children learned different techniques with the crayons and looked carefully at the colour and details of the vegetables.

 

 

 



Mini beast hunt.

 

 

Our final topic of the year is mini beasts, and it got off to a very enthusiastic start, as the children searched for mini beasts in the woods.
