Capacity.

This week in Maths, we have been learning about capacity.  We thought about how many children
The Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe managed to fit into her shoe, and decided to work out how many cubes we could fit into each of our shoes.  First, we estimated how many cubes we thought would fit, and then we recorded the actual amount with a tally.

We also compared the capacity of different sized water containers.

A big thank you to one of our lovely parents, who very kindly made us this amazing wooden clock.

Sticker charts!

Cress sandwiches.

Last week, we carried out a science investigation, to find out how well cress seeds would grow in either soil, sand, stones or water.  This week, we were able to see which seeds had grown best and we tried to explain why.  Then we made sandwiches to eat all the cress we had grown.

Go Noodle!

We all enjoyed dancing to Go Noodle in the classroom, and practicing our special 'bee breathing' at the end of the session.

Puppet show.

The children have enjoyed putting on their own puppet shows this week, as they practised retelling traditional tales.

Well done tot the children who completed their sticker charts this week.

Shades of green.

In Outdoor Adventure this week, we selected  green leaves and ordered them from the lightest green to the darkest.  We had to look at the colours very carefully.

Science investigation.

We found out about all the different places in which a seed can grow.  We chose between sand, stones, water and soil to plant our cress seeds. Hopefully we will grow enough to eat!

Building castles and towers.

We added to our small world play, by building castles for the pirates and the tower of terror!

Well done to the children who completed their sticker charts this week!
