We're going on a bear hunt!

When we returned to school this week, we found that Big Teddy was missing from our story corner!
Where he used to sit, we found some clues..........a letter from Big Ted and a book about a bear hunt.
We decided to go and look for him!
First we packed a basket of things we might need. We decided between us what to pack and what to leave behind......................

All explorers need biscuits!

Then we set off in search of Big Teddy.

By following the clues in 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt,' we finally found Big Teddy and carried him back safely to the classroom. What an adventure!

Celebrations!

The last week of term saw us celebrating Harvest. The children really enjoyed singing the Harvest songs and we hope you all enjoyed listening to them during our assembly.  Big Red Combine Harvester is always a firm favourite!

Later that day we held another celebration.  This time it was Big Ted's birthday party.  As part of our RE curriculum, we have been thinking about special days and birthdays and how they are celebrated.

In outdoor adventure, we collected leaves to  make nature crowns to wear to the party.

We designed party food in ICT and baked teddy bear shaped biscuits.

We wrote birthday cards and gave Big Ted a present.

Then we played party games and ate jelly and biscuits.

What a lovely way to end the children's first half term at school.
Have a lovely rest everyone!

Hello again!

As part of our transition process, we invited our local pre school teachers into school this week.  The children were thrilled to see familiar faces again and enjoyed showing off their profiles and giving tours of their new classrooms.

We also treated the pre-school staff to a rendition of our favourite Harvest song.  Don't forget to join us next Friday morning for our Harvest festival. See you there!

Hit the floor and give me five!

Life at school got a little bit tougher for the children this week, as we decided to adopt a boot camp style approach to class discipline.....................................

Just joking.....as if we would!  What the children actually did  was take part in a morning of sport led by Commonwealth silver medallist Ashley Bryant.  The children followed a number of different exercises and watched an inspirational assembly.  Who knows, we may have future Olympic hopefuls amongst our Foundation Stage children!

The children have settled well into the lunchtime routine now, and are enjoying their hot lunches.

We are continuing to work on our class targets and are delighted with the children's progress.

Sharing.

Listening carefully and putting their hands up.

And saying please and thank you!

Thank you for reading our blog.  Please stop by again soon.
